The school started in 1950 on a 2 hectares piece of land along Harare road as a primary school. It was by then called Rhobicon School.  It was moved to the current site in 1952 to occupy 9.8 hectares of land donated by Michael Hein. The Hein`s are of German descent and came from the Eastern Cape in South Africa and settled on the farm Senale South East of the school.
